Assessment list for a batch with grades entered per student

Report cards at a tuition centre are usually a spreadsheet that one teacher owns, a template someone made in Word years ago, and a weekend of copying numbers between the two. The result is a document that is late, inconsistent between batches, and impossible to find again when a parent asks in March. Tvarly's report card software makes the report card the natural end of a term's assessments rather than a separate project.

Teachers record assessments as they happen: seven assessment types, graded as a percentage, a letter, points or pass-fail, with custom fields for whatever else you track. Each assessment is a draft until it is published, so a parent never sees half-entered marks. At the end of the term a report card is generated per student with grades, attendance for the period, conduct, remarks and up to three private attachments. It downloads as a PDF from the student and parent portal and stays on the student's record.

◆ HOW IT WORKS

From the first test to the term report

  1. 1

    Set the grading scheme

Percentage, letter grades, points or pass-fail per course, plus custom assessment fields. The scheme decides how marks aggregate, so every batch's cards read the same.

  2. 2

    Record assessments through the term

Tests, assignments, projects and the rest are entered as they happen. Tutors see only their own batches and students.

  3. 3

    Publish when ready

Each assessment moves from draft to published. Only published grades appear in the portal, so entering marks over a few days is safe.

  4. 4

    Generate the term report card

Grades, attendance, conduct and remarks are assembled per student, with up to three private attachments. The PDF is downloadable by the parent and kept on the record.

◆ QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Can I use letter grades for some courses and marks for others?

Yes. The grading scheme is set per course: percentage, letter, points or pass-fail. The report card follows the scheme of each course.

Can parents see marks before the report card?

Only published ones. Each assessment is a draft until the teacher publishes it, and parents see published grades in the portal as the term goes on.

Is attendance on the report card?

Yes. The term report card carries the student's attendance for the period next to grades, conduct and remarks.

Can I attach a scanned answer sheet?

Yes. Each report card accepts up to three private attachments, visible to the student and their guardians in the portal.
