Attendance roster for a batch with present, absent and late marks

An attendance register in a tuition centre has one job and does it badly: it tells you who was present on the day, and nothing else. It cannot tell a parent their child missed three Saturdays in a row, it cannot be read from the owner's phone at nine at night, and it says nothing about the student who arrived twenty minutes late to every class this month. Tvarly's attendance app replaces the register with a roster that already knows who is supposed to be in the room.

Classes are generated from each batch's weekly timetable, so when a class starts the roster is already built from its enrolled students. The teacher marks present, absent, late or excused from any phone or tablet in the browser, with a check-in time and a note where it matters. For classes held in a Tvarly video room, attendance is marked automatically from who joined and for how long; for everything else, including Zoom or Google Meet, a person marks it. A mark made by a person is never overwritten.

◆ HOW IT WORKS

From timetable to roster to parent

  1. 1

The roster comes from the timetable

Each batch has a weekday-and-time grid. Dated classes are generated from it, on demand or nightly, and each class carries its enrolled students plus any billable drop-in attendee.

  2. 2

    Mark from the door

Open today's class on a phone and tap through the list: present, absent, late, excused. Add a check-in time or a note for a student who left early. It works in the browser, so there is nothing to install on every teacher's phone.

  3. 3

    Video classes mark themselves

If the class runs in a Tvarly video room, attendance is attested from who joined, with duration and lateness thresholds you set. External meeting links are not tracked; mark those by hand.

  4. 4

Parents see it the same day

Attendance appears in the student and parent portal on your own domain, next to the schedule and fees. A parent with two children switches between them without a second login.

◆ WHO IT IS FOR

Built for centres that run many batches a day

  • Tuition centres running several batches a day across one or more classrooms
  • Coaching institutes that need attendance per subject rather than per day
  • Academies whose parents ask about attendance before they ask about marks
  • Online tutors who want attendance from a hosted class without a separate sheet

WITH TVARLYA roster per class, marked on a phone, totalled per student and batch automatically
BEFOREParents calling to ask whether their child turned up
WITH TVARLYAttendance visible to the parent in the portal, alongside the schedule
BEFOREA separate attendance app that does not know your fee plans
WITH TVARLYAttendance, per-class billing and report cards reading from the same class record
◆ QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Do teachers need to install anything?

No. Attendance is marked in the browser on any phone, tablet or laptop. A tutor signs in with the tutor role and sees only their own batches and students.

Can attendance be marked for a make-up or extra class?

Yes. Ad-hoc and make-up classes are added to the schedule like any other class, with their own roster, and a substitute teacher can be set per class.

Is attendance marked automatically for Zoom or Google Meet classes?

No. Automatic marking works only for classes held in a Tvarly video room, where the system can see who joined. For external links the teacher marks attendance by hand after the class.

Does attendance show on the report card?

Yes. Term report cards include the student's attendance for the period alongside grades, conduct and remarks, and download as a PDF.
